Customer Spotlight: “Vision” Digital Jukebox

View Interactive made a splash three years ago in the coin-operated music business by developing and marketing the most cost-effective and robust digital, pay-for-play jukebox conversion kits on the market. This allowed owners of commercial CD-based jukeboxes to convert them to digital, internet connected jukeboxes. Their spectacular success put 2500 units into the market in the matter of months. Based on that success, they decided to develop a digital jukebox from the ground up around the needs of the operators and owners of the systems. This idea culminated in the Vision jukebox, designed and manufactured by Cellpoint Systems.

“Operators have been asking for a high quality, low-cost, digital jukebox,” said Clayton Chrisman, Vice President of Sales for View. “First we delivered the highest quality, lowest cost digital floor jukebox. Now we are delivering the highest quality, lowest cost digital wall mount jukebox, the Vision, designed and built by Cellpoint Systems.”

View’s President and founder, Rick Caviglia formed the company on the idea that jukebox manufacturers in the digital era were not developing products for the owners of the systems, meaning the operators. Products were developed around what the software and digital technology could do, which just increased the acquisition and operating costs. The emergence of digital technology into an old and traditional industry, created an opportunity to start from scratch, and build a product from the ground up that meets the needs of the operators.

“Cellpoint was the only vendor we approached that not only understood our “vision” of the future of this market, but they quickly embraced the project and came back with concepts of the Vision jukebox that are nearly identical to the current production version. We saw some work they had done in the coin-op business, and realized they understood the market.”

“Our goal was to re-define the jukebox for the digital era, using our experience as coin-op operators to make jukeboxes more profitable, less expensive, and much more reliable. Cellpoint’s designers and engineers worked with us extensively, taking many of our ideas much further than we thought possible, and in the end, they’ve designed and built the most flexible and attractive jukebox on the market; for a price lower than the competition.”

“The Vision jukebox has been on the market for just a few months, and we already have competitors congratulaing us on hitting the mark with the design. It seems the design has set the standard for what a digital jukebox should look like, in the way the old Wurlitzer Bubbler jukebox was the icon in the past.”

Cellpoint Systems provides the industrial design, mechanical engineering, and turn-key manufacturing for the Vision jukeboxes. Cellpoint also developed and manufactures the 900 Mhz radio-based remote control for the system, based on radio designs developed by Cellpoint Systems.
